Nasty
Elf the magickal trickster
(self-proclaimed World's Greatest Cartoon Star), was created in 1991
by Peter Bernard & John Beach and pitched to Mark Zander, James Wang,
and Winnie Chaffee before we got a development deal offered from
Jim Jinkins & Jumbo Pictures in 1992. It was at Jumbo
that Nastina, Schmendrake and Grampa Nasty were
fleshed out, and Nasty grabbed the spotlight as star of the
show. After Nickelodeon passed on Nasty (due to their
then-policy of not basing animated shows on magical characters), there have
been Nasty Elf t-shirts, candy, comics and radio shows. |
